About the show

“Bones” (revisited) Hommage for Two Grannies - the peformernig space of this interdisciplinary project “Bones” offers opportunties for meetings which never happened – two grannies, whose life stories are connected through the generation which has survived and survives the great changes of the 20th century: fascism, socialism and now also personally experiencing the plight of capitalism. Their life stories are subject to lapses in memory, their bodies carry the weight of time (…) Two choreographers and perfing artists through the project “Bones” open up the discussion about new opportunities within a relationship and the intentions of the performance itself, identity , heritage , ways how we treat the performance of a speaking body. Questions arising from the artistic dialogue reach beyond the boundaries of the dance and theatre performance itself. In this artistic collaboration Sanja Tropp Frühwald (VRUM, Zagreb, Croatia) and Jule Flierl (Berlin, Germany) create a surreal world inspired by the works of Rene Magritte, a world fragmented and which imposes questions about the construction of our identities, family ties and stereotypes about youth and aging.
