Students of School of Contemporary Dance Ana Maletić in Zagreb are active participants bringing to life as part of their year-end pro-development practice, the site-specific performance Halab, choreographed by Sol Picó. Halab is the ancient name of Aleppo, the Syrian city that has been totally destroyed as a result of the civil war that has displaced millions and caused a flood of migration into Europe. The project aims to increase the visibility of the proportion of this humanitarian drama of refugees attempting to cross the Mediterranean sea by boats in pursuit of the promise of a better and safer future.
